Explore Roche Antioxidant Synergisms Working with antioxidants for use as food pre­ servatives, Roche scientists have determined that certain antioxidant combinations exhibit significantly greater activity than single anti­ oxidant additives alone. This synergistic activity suggests that there are combinations that can play an important part in the long term preservation of a wide range of commercial chemicals that are subject to peroxi­ dation during storage, handling and use...at modest cost, due to their low concentration and high activity. Moreover, most of these anti­ oxidants are FDA approved. Among such chemicals which do need special antioxidants are petrochemicals, plastics, various polymers, rubber, paints, lanolins, fats, oils, soaps, cosmetics, drugs, Vitamin A, citrus oil, and many other chemicals with oxidizable double bonds. Roche antioxidants presently available in commercial quantities include:
