NEW PRODUCTS Teflon and Stainless Steel Syringe Teflon and Stainless Steel Syringe is useful for the measurement and trans fer of exceedingly reactive chemicals and in any application where glass syringes create a problem. Hamilton Co, Whittier, Calif. 428

A dosimeter which will detect as little as 0.1 Roentgens is based on the thermolescence property of manga nese activated fluoride crystals which will " t r a p " electrons in the solid state lattice structure which have been dis placed from their normal positions from radiation. The amount of trap ping and, therefore, the amount of luminescence, is directly proportional to the amount of radiation. This de vice is sensitive to x-rays, gamma rays, and other nuclear emanations. Dosimeter units are in the form of flat plaques and needles. A "read-out" unit which measures the amount of accumulated radiation dose from 0.1 to 10 Κ Roentgens consists of a heater, a multiplier phototube with suitable optical and electronic cir cuitry, an amplifier, and an output in dicating meter.
