The term “cycloaddition of carbonyl ylides to vinyl sulfoxides”, as it was used in the title of our paper and in some parts of the Introduction, was only meant to refer to [3 + 2]-cycloaddition reactions. An example of a [5 + 2] intramolecular cycloaddition of β-silyloxy-γ-pyrones to vinyl sulfoxides had previously been reported by Mascaren˜as et al. (Org. Lett. 2000, 2, 1005).
