USPHS Courses The U. S. Public Health Service will present a series of related training courses at the Robert A. Taft Sanitary Engineering Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, opening with Engineering Aspects of Radiation Surveillance, March 1 to 12, 1965. Analysis of Radionuclides in Water follows, March 15 to 26, with Radionuclide Analysis by Gamma Spectroscopy, March 29 to April 9, concluding the series. In Analysis of Radionuclides in Water, the trainee learns to perform gross and specific radionuclide analyses by chemical and instrumental methods. In the closing course, instruction enables the trainee to evaluate the performance of a gamma spectrometer and also to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of environmental samples of gamma spectroscopy. Trainees may register for the courses singly or in series. Applications for the courses or requests for information should be addressed to the Director, Training Program, Robert A. Taft Sanitary Engineering Center, 4676 Columbia Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45226, or to an appropriate USPHS Regional Office. No tuition or registration fee is required.

Advanced Mass Spectrometry Course An advanced mass spectrometry course sponsored by Consolidated Electrodynamics Corp. will be held October 12 to 16 at the Hotel Webster Hall, Pittsburgh, Pa. The meeting will be conducted by A. G. Sharkey of the Pittsburgh Coal Research Center, U. S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines. Other speakers will include Dr. Klaus Biemann of Massachusetts Institute of Technology ; Janet L. Shultz of the U. S. Bureau of Mines; and Dr. William J. Lange, Harold D. Cook, and William M. Hickam, of Westinghouse Corp. Enrollment is limited to 30 persons. Registration may be made by contacting T. R.
