m PERFORMANCE PROFILE ON 3M BRAND
FLUOROCHEMICAL SURFACTANTS • Offer 10 dyne-cm lower surface tension than any other surfactants. • Effective at extremely low concentrations.
Fluorocarbon chain stirs new ideas in surfactant chemistry Have you heard? . . . about the surface-active chemical structure with a stable fluorocarbon tail and solubilizing groups that are organic or in organic, oil or water soluble? This new 3M Surfactant discovery is revo lutionizing formulas in many consumer and industrial products that re quire a surfactant. This new 3 M structure of fluorocarbon tail and solubilizing group creates a surfactant that can be adapted to the requirements of practic ally any formula. The solubilizing group is especially designed to aid in the migration and orientation of the molecule to achieve properties at lowest solution concentrations. It can be either oil soluble or water soluble (anionic, cationic, nonionic, amphoteric). The fluorocarbon tail is unique, with perhaps the lowest surface energy of any known material. Has very low solubility in both aqueous and organic systems; and exceptional resistance to thermal, chemical, electrical, biological attack, as well as good resistance to radiation.
