For Improved Urethane Elastomers Investigate — QO* Polymeg QO Chemicals

(polytetramethylene ether glycol)

Chemical Advantages for the Elastomer Producer

Urethane elastomers are prepared by either the pre-polymer or one-shot method by reacting Polymeg (a lin ear ether glycol) with an excess of diisocyanate to promote cross-linking. The mechanical properties of the elas tomers are outstanding. Properties can be tailored tofitspecific applica tions. Polymeg in the formulation con tributes superior hydrolytic stability. Elastomer manufacturers derive both chemical and physical benefits in the process.

• no unsaturation • no ester linkage • no secondary hydroxyls

Physical Advantages for the Elastomer Producer • low viscosity and easy processing characteristics • low hysteresis loss • excellent moisture resistance • good abrasion resistance • remarkable resiliency • excellent low temperature flexibility • high moisture vapor transmission
