You need only turn a pair of tandem valves to select any column from as many as five. Switching columns frequently is becoming a generally-accepted practice for several reasons. Often, you must switch to a different column to make a different analysis. But, even when switching columns is not
essential, dedicating a separate column to each analysis eliminates column equilibration delays, reduces interferences, and prolongs column life. Rheodyne's Model 7066 Tandem Column Selector connects any of up to five columns (or a bypass line) between the sample injector and the detector.
