Ethylene Furnaces.

Future Shortages? Not for customers of ARCO Chemical. We're multiplying our production capacity.

The solutions, in large part, can only come from dedicated professionals in the petrochemical industry.

A case in point is shown above. It is the first one of our new world-scale ethylene cracking furnaces now on stream at Channelview, Texas. From the ethylene produced on this one unit, in just a little over two weeks, enough polyethylene film could be made to wrap all of the meat bought by every American family in an entire year.

At ARCO Chemical we have been able to make plans complete enough, develop technology extensive enough, and commit enough money that some of the problems are already behind us.

The job of insuring our petrochemical future has come a long way. But much remains to be done. Final success will continue to demand the best professional effort. ARCO Chemical is ready.

The chemical industry is expected to double its supply needs in the next 10 years. Filling these needs and avoiding shortages will present serious problems.
