GRAPHICAL METHODS OF DETERMINING SELF-ASSOCIATION CONSTANTS. 111, REFIXED TREATMENT OF MOLECULAR WEIGHT DATA BYF. J. C. ROSSOTTI* AND HAZEL ROSSOTTI Department of Chemistru, The University of Edinburgh, Scotland Received Februaru 87,1981

New graphical methods are proposed for evaluating self-association constants from the variation of the number average molecular weight with total concentration. They are applicable to systems containing one, two or three oligomers, or an extended series of multimers, and are particularly useful if appreciable association occurs a t the lowest concentration studied. The methods are illustrated with reference to hydrogen &loride and sulfur in the vapor phase; to N,N'-diphenylformamide in benzene; and to imidazole in carbon tetrachloride.
