Morgan Festschrift Guest Editors Eight guest editors (shown below) selected manuscripts for consideration and managed the review process. A ninth guest editor, Howard Liljestrand (not shown), helped in the selection of manuscripts. The guest editors for this special issue honoring Jim Morgan were selected for their expertise in research and professional interests shared by Morgan. Thomas J. DiChristina is an associate professor of biology at Georgia Tech, and a former student of Jim Morgan. Desmond F. Lawler is a professor in the Environmental and Water Resources Engineering Program in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin who, along with Jim Morgan, is interested

in particles. Howard M. Liljestrand, associate chair of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas, Austin, and former Ph.D. student of Jim Morgan, works on a range of air and water quality issues. Richard G. Luthy is a professor of environmental engineering at Stanford University; his work on physicochemical processes and water quality benefited through advice and encouragement from Jim Morgan. Russell E. McDuff is a professor of oceanography at the University of Washington and worked in Jim Morgan’s group as an undergraduate. Diane M. McKnight of the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research at the

University of Colorado conducts research that focuses on interactions between freshwater biota, trace metals, and natural organic material in diverse freshwater environments. Alan T. Stone is a professor of environmental chemistry at Johns Hopkins and a former Ph.D. student of Jim Morgan. R. Rhodes Trussell, senior vice president of Montgomery Watson Harza, is concerned with water disinfection, water reuse, and other environmental engineering issues. Bernhard Wehrli is a professor of aquatic chemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute for Science and Technology, and a former postdoc of Jim Morgan.
