In a recent article' 1 ', Dr. O. Francis Bennett of Boston College published experimental data o n t h e general use o f Gas C h r o m a t o g r a p h y f o r t h e quantitative determination o f w a t e r in organic s y s t e m s . "Our procedure required a f i x e d volume delivery o f liquid f o r t h e quantitative measure­ m e n t s . " Reports Bennett, "We f o u n d t h e Hamilton Ι Ο μ ί syringe, f i t t e d w i t h a Chaney Adaptor, t o be ideal f o r this use. In our hands, t h e m a x i m u m average deviation f o r duplicate determina­ tions, w h e n using this syringe, w a s ± 0 . 1 0 % . In m o s t instances, t h e average deviation for dupli­ cate determinations w a s less than t h e m a x i m u m value.
