through the cell, the amount of cur rent moving in an external flow circuit because of electrochemical action is a function of the amount of oxygen in a sample stream. The analyzer is available in single or multiple ranges from 0 to 10 p.p.m. to 0 to 1% oxygen. For normal operation, accuracy is ± 2 % at full scale and ± 1 % for short periods. P-44 Microchemistry

Centrifuge

Optical readers

The microchemistry centrifuge by Clay-Adams, Inc. provides centrifuga-

tion at 13,500 rpm, and accommodates both glass and disposable plastic tubes of 1 ml., 0.5 ml. and 0.25 ml. sizes. The machine runs quietly, the company says, owing to precision machining and balance of the eight place head, and shock-mounting of housing, motor, and head. Separate ventilating systems for head and motor chambers prevent over heating of the instrument or specimens. Safety is provided by an angle head cover in addition to the heavy gauge steel centrifuge cover which must be secured before the motor will start. A dial timer is set for one to thirty sec onds, after which an automatic brake stops the head in 60 seconds without any action on the operator's part. P-45
