ONE BASIC PROBLEM...30 DIFFERENT ANSWERS

Foam . . . whether you want a lot, a little or essentially none, you're faced with one basic problem: controlling it to a precise degree. And, in its Pluronic® series of polyols, Wyandotte offers more than 30 commercially available key chemicals to help you do just that. The Pluronic polyols are unique, in that the size of both the hydrophobe and the hydrophile are variable, offering two dimensions of freedom. This permits the fundamental structure to be altered into a nearly infinite number of molecular configurations—each offering variations in surface tension, soil removal and foaming properties. The Pluronic series is available in a variety of different

forms: liquid, paste, solid, flake and powdered. Selecting the right Pluronic grade is greatly simplified for you by Wyandotte's exclusive Pluronic Grid. It provides complete data, based on extensive experience . . . lets you make the correct choice without costly trial and error. Used singly, or in combination, the Pluronic series could solve your foaming problem—give you the degree of surface tension and soil removal your product or process needs. Mail the coupon below. We'll be happy to send you samples, listing of physical properties, and data sheets pertinent to your application together with a personal copy of the Pluronic Grid.

Pluronic polyols, unique in t h a t the size of both the hydrophobe and the hydrophile are variable, offer two dimensions of f r e e d o m . This unusual characteristic makes possible the production of a related series of products possessing a wide range of properties, which vary (grade for grade) in small, controllable increments. The series of Pluronic polyols ranges in physical f o r m f r o m mobile liquids to solids sufficiently hard to be flaked. 1 0 0 % active in all f o r m s , these polyols exhibit a wide variety of surface-active properties. The molecular weights of present grades range f r o m 1,000 to over 16,000 . . . unusually high c o m p a r e d to most surface-active agents. Pluronic grades vary f r o m materials that are almost water insoluble to materials t h a t have no cloud point—even at the boiling point of water. Their applications, consequently, are many and varied, including such uses as foam-control agents, emulsifiers, detergents, wetting and dispersing agents, as well as chemical intermediates.

The Pluronic Grid is a handy (SV2" x 11") 4-page folder. It contains a wealth of data and application information as well as a graphic representation of the molecular relationships of the many Pluronic polyols. By plotting molecular weight ranges of the hydrophobe against the per cent of the hydrophile in each available molecule, it makes possible evaluations without prolonged random experimentation . . . leads you directly to the Pluronic polyol (or c o m bination of polyols) that holds the most promise for your particular application.
