Hinged Plate Flask Support Gerald E. McAchran Ohio State Universitv, Columbus
Anyone who has ever had t o support a dewar, mantle, or flask under a piece of equipment mounted on a rack or ring stand may find this simple device far more useful than the conventional iron ring and blocks. The hinged plate allows removal or positioning of equipment from directly below and is easily operated with the free hand. If necessary, the bolt can he pulled and the plate screwfor bolt %tap dropped with the same ,,,, hand supporting the equipment. This eliminates the hand-over-hand technique of passing through a n iron ring and the fumbling for blocks, often when speed is essential.
