Octagonal Prismatic Periodic Table

The arrangement shown in the figure is based on the electronic configurations, the oxidation states, and the physical properties of the known elements. It shows three rules of the classification of the elements: The Rule of Series: "The elements within a period should be classified into separate series according to their different filling of quantum shells of electrons." I n a period, the s-type and the p-type groupings are together designated as the typical series; the d-type, the f-type, the y-type, and the h-type series may be designated as the primary, the secondary, the tertiary, and the quaternary transition series, respectively. The Rule of Octaves: "The elements within a series could he classified into 8 groups, except the only short series in period 1." The elements in the typical series belong to the main groups, while the transition elements in the primary, the secondary, the tertiary, and the quaternary transition series are designated belonging to the subgroups a, b, c, and d, respectively. The Rule of Triads: "Triads begin to appear at the subgroup VIII in all the transition series with a maximum number at which they can exist." The existence of the triads is shown mainly by their physical properties. These three rules will play an important role in the arrangement of the undiscovered elements of the hypothetical periods on the tahle. When the observed oxidation states of the known elements are deliberated with this tahle, a feature is shown and may he expressed as The Rule of Group Numbers. "The group numbers in a series from the beginning up to the number VIII represent the highest idealized oxidation states, while those behind the number VIII represent the lowest idealized oxidation states of the elements which belong to them." According to this rule, the elements Srn, Eu, Gd, Pu, Am, and Cm would have the highest oxidation state of +S, and those Tb, Dy, Ho, Bk, Cf, and Es would have the lowest oxidation state of 1. According to the quantum theory and t,he rule of series, both the periods 8 and 9 will contain each an additional tertiary transition series (18 elements), which will be located on the fourth layer. As for the period 10, it is postulated to contain the additional 22 quaternary transition elements (224-245). However, according to the rule of triads, the elements 244 and 245 will occupy no places on the fifth layer. Thus, the table cannot he arranged further.

he illustrated only by the electronic configurations, the periodicity of the elements would also be based on the nucleonic configurations of elements. (b) It is expected that all the nuclei would be classified into S types according to their nucleonic configurations. (c) Since there are no positions for the elements 244 and 245 in the quaternary transition series, it means that the quantum theory will be restricted by the rule of triads. Hence the element 243 will be the last hypothetical element in the periodic system, so then there is a suggestion offered to t,he supposable future founder of the element 243 that it may he called zunzenium (symbol Zz). It is deduced from a Chinese idiom "The name stands behind Zun Zen," who (Zun Zen) came last on the list of successful candidates in a royal examination.
