How we got to the root of a n extraction problem.

The company was extracting turpentine from old pine stumps. But it hit a snag. "What do you do about a n extraction solvent that gives a good yield, but will not distill out?" asked the company official. "Find another solvent/ 7 came the answer. So he called AMSCO. AMSCO's Technical Service staff determined that the root of the problem was the hydrocarbon composition of the solvent. An AMSCO man r a n g a s chromatography tests on this solvent a n d others, concluding that the AMSCO product was best for the job. Results? The turpentine came out of the pine stumps, and—with AMSCO—the solvent came out of the turpentine. Got a knotty problem you can't solve? Ask around...
