Correction Hygroscopic Behavior of Substrate-Deposited Particles Studied by Micro-FT-IR Spectroscopy and Complementary Methods of Particle Analysis Yong Liu, Zhiwei Yang, Yury Desyaterik, Paul L. Gassman, Hai Wang, and Alexander Laskin* (Anal. Chem. 2008, 80, 633–642)

Table 1 on page 639 presents polynomial coefficients for calculations of water-to-solute ratios (WSR) as a function of water activity aw for NaCl, sea salt, NaNO3, and (NH4)2SO4 salts. These coefficients were derived from literature data. However, because of rounding errors, their use for WSR calculations yields results that deviate from the literature data. The corrected table is given below which includes polynomial coefficients with two additional significant figures which are sufficient for accurate calculations.
