A new totally enclosed, tunneltype gas burner is capable of effect ing complete combustion in a fur nace chamber pressurized up to 50 p.s.i. The burner is available in 18 sizes covering a capacity range from 4000 to 2,000,000 B.t.u. per hour. The manufacturer reports that the burner's long annular port eliminates backfire and turbulence at the port, making easy lighting possible. Dept. Two Kojic Acid Derivatives Chlorokojic acid and kojyl palmitate have been made available in research quantities. T h e latter is stated to have potential use in the removal of trace metals from non aqueous media, such as petroleum oils and paint additives, as it retains its chelating properties in such sys tems.
