I&EC Research 2017 Excellence in Review Awards • Liangshu Zhong, Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China • Wojciech Zorawski, Kielce University of Technology, Poland (The asterisk (*) indicates an awardee who was also an Excellence in Review recipient in 2016.) These reviewers were recommended by our editors on the basis of having provided multiple reviews, often within days, that are exceptionally substantive. Our entire team of editors is delighted to honor and thank these 2017 Excellence in Review Award recipients. Their contributions are vital to maintaining I&EC Research as the general chemical engineering journal that is the world’s largest, most cited, most selective, and fastest to publication.

eer Review Week 2017 (September 11−17, 2017) is the perfect time for Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research to announce its annual set of Excellence in Review Award winners. Our editors, although experts in their fields and active contributors to the technical literature, rely on assessments from peer reviewers to inform decisions regarding which manuscripts to publish in I&EC Research. Perhaps even more importantly, good peer review reports give authors suggestions for improving their publications and making the research contributions even more valuable to the community. We have tremendous appreciation for the more than 5000 people who have completed reviews for I&EC Research during the last 12 months. These reviewers give of their time, experience, and expertise to guide our editors, assist our authors, and advance the effective communication of chemical research. Here, we are pleased to announce our second annual Excellence in Review Awards, which recognize 27 reviewers who have made especially notable contributions to I&EC Research during the past 12 months. The awardees reflect the global reach of I&EC Research, as they come from 13 different countries on five different continents. • *Michael Baldea, University of Texas at Austin, USA • Jason Bara, University of Alabama, USA • Jürgen Caro, University of Hannover, Germany • Diego Cafaro, National University of the Littoral, Argentina • *I-Lung Chien, National Taiwan University, Taiwan • *Panagiotis Christofides, University of California, Los Angeles, USA • *Jiachun Feng, Fudan University, China • Maria Iliuta, Laval University, Canada • Liangbin Li, University of Science and Technology of China, China • Haiqing Lin, University of Buf falo, SUNY, USA • Zheng-Hong Luo, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China • Lutz Mädler, University of Bremen, Germany • Giridhar Madras, Indian Institute of Science, India • Christos Maravelias, University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA • P.
