THE AIR POLLUTION ABATEMENT MARKET The market for air pollution control equipment and related goods and services will continue t o expand rapidly during the next five years from a level of $1 billion in 1974 to more than $1.7 billion by 1979 (average annual rate is 10.5%). Frost & Sullivan has completed a 233-page report analyzing and forecasting the market through 1985 for these equipments and setvices: particulate control (electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters, mechanical collectors and scrubbers); gaseous control (scrubbers, absorbers and others); engineering and construction services; fans and blowers; wastewater treatment and disposal equipment; ductwork and stacks; and process controls. Capital expenditures through 1985 are estimated for pollution control facilities. Federal programs, including many R&D tasks, are reviewed, and a detailed analysis of various methods to control sulfur oxides is presented.
