2. It eliminates all lost motion and wear due to the linkage that is unavoidable in motion-balance systems. Maintenance is therefore reduced almost to zero. 3. Its remarkable adjustability of span and elevation enables a comparatively small group of basic transmitters to meet practically all measurement requirements for the listed variables. Better than knife-edge pivots Foxboro's unique, onepiece flexure pivot eliminates all but molecular friction. Since there is no pivot wear, replacement and even maintenance in this area are eliminated. Precise, stable zero and span adjustments No drift . . . eliminate periodic recalibration. No field power Simple, 2-wire system, with transistor amplifier and d-c series transmission loop, eliminates need for separate field power.
