Industry's most complete line of

TRUE FORCEBALANCE transmitters

This is literally industry's first family of electronic forcebalance transmitters . . . first to be developed . . . first complete line . . . and first by a considerable margin in performance. The basic advantages of Foxboro's forcebalance transmission system are relatively simple. 1. It greatly increases the precision with which processes can be controlled because it transmits measured information with greater repeatability and sensitivity than is possible with a full- or semi-motion-type instrument.

2. It eliminates all lost motion and wear due to the linkage that is unavoidable in motion-balance systems. Maintenance is therefore reduced almost to zero. 3. Its remarkable adjustability of span and elevation enables a comparatively small group of basic transmitters to meet practically all measurement requirements for the listed variables. Some of the more significant supporting details are as follows: 10 to 1 Span Adjustment permits single spare instrument to serve as backup for many on-line instruments covering many different measurement ranges. Built-in ± 3 0 0 % Elevation ensures unprecedented flexibility even after installation of a particular transmitter. Excellent Accuracy, Repeatability and Sensitivity as functions of span regardless of elevation. Unique design features also ensure very high over-range protection.

Better than knife-edge pivots Foxboro's unique, onepiece flexure pivot eliminates all but molecular friction. Since there is no pivot wear, replacement and even maintenance in this area are eliminated. Precise, stable zero and span adjustments No drift . . . eliminate periodic recalibration. No field power Simple, 2-wire system, with transistor amplifier and d-c series transmission loop, eliminates need for separate field power. Pressure and d/p Cell transmitters available in ranges from 0-50 mm. Hg. absolute to 3000 psi and 0-5" to 850" water. For further technical information, write for Bulletin 21-10.
