Influence of Cu, Fe, Pb, and Zn Chlorides and Oxides on Formation of Chlorinated Aromatic Compounds in MSWI Fly Ash [Environmental Science & Technology 2009, 43, 8053–8059 DOI: 10.1021/es901842n]. Takashi Fujimori,* Masaki Takaoka, and Nobuo Takeda

After publication, we found a misdescription of a statistical analysis in this article. From the hierarchical cluster analysis of PCDDs, as shown in Figure 5a, using the normalized distribution patterns of PCDDs derived from ZnO (Figure 3) and MSWI fly ash (Figure 4), ZnO showed an obviously high similarity with MSWI fly ash. However, the similarity of ZnO PCDDs was described as low (blank) in Table 1. A high similarity is the correct analytical result. Therefore, the corrected Table 1 is shown below: Table 1. List of the Similarity of Normalized Distribution Patterns between Model Fly Ashes with Added Metallic Compounds and MSWI Fly Ash. Additionally, there are several changes to the text of our original paper. In the Abstract on page 8053, the sentence in the left column that reads “The formation of PCDDs was influenced mainly by group B, blank, and PbO” should be “The formation of PCDDs was influenced mainly by group B, blank, and group E”. In the right column of the Abstract on page 8056 the sentence “The normalized distribution patterns of PCDDs in the blank and model fly ashes with added iron chlorides (group B) and with added PbO showed high similarity (Figure 5a and Table 1)” should be “The normalized distribution patterns of PCDDs in the blank and model fly ashes with added iron chlorides (group B) and with added group E showed high similarity (Figure 5a and Table 1)”. On pages 8056-8057, the sentence “In contrast, group C (CuO and PbCl2) and Fe2O3, ZnCl2 and ZnO displayed low 1746
