T
he future of science is driven by the next generation. In order to connect with early career scientists, JCIM has set up an Early Career Board (ECB) to hear insights and perspectives about the ever-changing publishing landscape from the younger generation. With input from our Editorial Advisory Board (EAB), we selected ten computational chemists and biologists who are just starting out on their independent careers as academic, industrial, and government scientists. Our ECB will bring the voice of early career computational chemists to the readers of JCIM, providing critical feedback from the younger demographic. We hope they can inspire and encourage involvement of their peers in moving the computational field forward. With the ECB’s guidance, we will be publishing a series of perspectives focusing on issues faced by scientists at the start of their careers in addition to scientific perspectives. The members of the ECB have already suggested a number of virtual issues, which they will help organize and develop over the coming months along with many exciting ideas. If you have any suggestions for our ECB members, please feel to contact them with your thoughts. Please welcome the members of JCIM’s ECB: Kira Armacost, Merck & Co., Inc. Feixiong Cheng, Northeastern University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Huiyong Sun, Zhejiang University Mattia Mori, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia Hari Muddana, OpenEye Science Sof tware Giulia Palermo, University of California, Riverside Sereina Riniker, ETH Zurich Karen Sargsyan, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica Andrea Volkamer, Charite Medical University, Berlin Zhijian Xu, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences We are so very excited to have our ECB established and very much look forward to working with them in the future!
