NSF Announces Cooperative Science Programs The National Science Foundation has published an 11-page booklet that provides basic information on the Eastern Europe Cooperative Science

Programs. These programs are aimed at fostering and supporting scientific cooperation between the U.S. and Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, and Romania. The NSF Division of International Programs coordinates scientific activities undertaken under these programs in the U.S. and maintains liasons with foreign agencies of the cooperating countries. The programs offer support for three types of activities: scientific

EXCLUSIVE GLASS MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN THE MASS SPECTROMETER DETECTOR Galileo's Channeltron® ion detectors are more dependable because w e gave t h e m a stable glass dynode surface. This simple one-piece c o m p o n e n t obsolètes the c o m plex metal multidynode detector using a resistive divider. The glass channel wall provides more accurate and consistent results plus reliability and stability for longlasting trouble free operation of your mass spectrometer. A w i d e selection of detectors is in stock for almost any standard spectrometer. Special mass spectrometer detectors will be designed to meet individual specifications. All are packaged for ease of installation. Write to us at Galileo Park, Sturbridge, M A 01518 or call (617) 347-9191.
