Microtome
The Jung rotary microtome 1120, an import from West Germany offered by William J. Hacker & Co., is de signed for serial sectioning of paraffins, celloidin, and frozen sections. The company says construction of the unit makes it free of vibration. An inter changeable freezing attachment con verts the microtome for sectioning frozen tissues. Injuries are prevented by a specially built knife guard.

The 1120 has automatic feed of one to 40 microns in steps of one, two, or five microns. A specimen control indi cates length of unused specimen in millimeters and a section counter indi cates the number of sections made. A tilting device provides portability and a conveyor belt allows sections to be transferred on a continuous ribbon.
