Letters JCE Classroom Activities
The editorial office replies
I had a quick question about the last two issues [June and July 2003] of the Journal of Chemical Education. In both issues there was no “JCE Classroom Activity.” Is this section no longer going to be a part of the Journal? If not, I would like to strongly register my opposition to this move. This section is one of the first I look at each month and has provided me with some really valuable activities for use in my classroom. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
We are always glad to know that readers find JCE Classroom Activities useful. There are no plans to cancel this feature, but you were looking for Activities during the summer. Our goal is to publish nine Activities a year—September through May—to correspond with a typical school year. The best way to keep JCE Classroom Activities a regular feature is for readers to submit their own Activities for publication. We thank those who have contributed to the increase in submissions over the past few months. Questions and comments (as well as votes of confidence!) can be directed to Erica Jacobsen (
