Jefferson functional fluids offer FUNCTIONAL VERSATILITY and VERSATILE FUNCTIONALITY! Functional versatility is their strong suit. They're useful as lubricants, solvents and coupling agents, plasticizers, heat-transfer fluids, frothing agents and defoamers, thickeners, specialty surfactants, chemical intermediates and as components of gasoline additives and fire-resistant hydraulic fluids. As for versatile functionality, you can select a polyol with one, two or three hydroxyl groups depending upon your needs. The terminal hydroxyl groups make these polyols particularly useful as chemical intermediates. For example, you can react WL-660-A with a fatty acid to make a fluid polyethylene glycol-type ester which is useful in hair preparations, shampoos, shaving creams, lotions, and other cosmetics. These seventeen functional fluids are derivatives of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. They fall into three categories: water soluble (WL), oil soluble (OL) and water-soluble thickening fluids (WT). All are clear, essentially neutral liquids with high flash points. The table will help you find the polyol or polyols with the properties you need. Then ask for samples and complete technical data . . .
