Letters Kudos to JCE Staff I recently published an article in JCE (1). Just before it was accepted on April 20, 2009, I received a message from Liana Lamont of the JCE staff about the manuscript on March 30 stating that the resolution in the figures was too low. I was able to improve the resolution of TIFF graphics, but someone working with them asked if I could export CrystalMaker figures as vector graphics. I did not know about it, but I could and did it. The staff were pleased with the results. On May 22, Arrietta Clauss sent the article for proofing. It was excellent. I am impressed with the efficiency of the JCE production. The system works beautifully and the people involved are extraordinary. I liked the pop-ups for information or questions about text and figures. The changes they made were fine. I had a few suggestions and these changes were made quickly and very well. I got the corrected article May 30, 2009. No further changes were needed. The vector graphics could be edited and the staff did an excellent job. Randy Wildman must know a lot of chemistry and crystallography. He made several changes that I could not make and the results were great. He used barbed lines for unit cells and polyhedra and the results are very good. He found a line in front of one atom when it must be behind that atom.

He corrected it. I could not do it in CrystalMaker. Few of the readers of JCE would have detected it, but I am pleased that it was corrected. It is a pleasure to work with such personable and competent people. They are interested in obtaining the best result possible. I think people are more likely to send a message for complaints than for compliments. I want to congratulate you and your staff for an outstanding job. Literature Cited 1. Douglas, B. J. Chem.
