TOP PRIORITY CONCERN The first consideration for every laboratory is to maintain an effective program for safety and occupational health. It means avoidance of incidents that may cause overexposure or injury. It means constant attention to precautions to avoid fires, meet laboratory standards, improve professional working habits. It means management interest and commitment as well as active participation by laboratory personnel. If you are concerned with laboratory safety, either on a part-time or full-time basis, this course provides the basics and the specifics to help maintain a safe workplace, and to help ensure compliance with the many regulations that apply to your lab. TEN YEARS OF PROVEN RESULTS Over 700 chemists, other scientists, engineers, and safety personnel have attended this AOS course since Messrs. Steere and Golden started teaching it in 1974. The course is designed for those who need to know how to establish and maintain a laboratory safety program and how to provide training required to meet the new OSHA Hazard Oommunication Standard. The course focuses on accident causation, health hazards of chemicals, protective equipment, laboratory ventilation, and other practical measures for prevention of incidents or exposures which may cause fires, personal injury, health impairment or interference with laboratory operations. GRAPHIC INFORMATION Videotapes and slides supplement the lectures to provide vivid illustrations of hazards and solutions, covering the latest information on what must be done and the best ways to achieve effective results. COURSE FEES ACS Members: $695.00
