Getting the price of El down from about $5.00/lb. to $0.80/lb. satisfied almost everybody

Except us. We want it to be cheaper still. And it will be. Ethylenimine's price story is a long one. Fifteen years. That's how long it took us to come up with a way to make it commercially. Our first "semi" plant brought the price down to $1.25/lb. in 1964. And when our computer-monitored commercial plant came on stream in 1965, the price went down to $0.95/lb. Now it's down again. To $0.80/lb. in tank car quantities. And our volume growth means we'll be building a second plant. Bringing El's price down to the $0.50/lb.

range within the next few years. At those prices, you can't go wrong. So think about what El can do for you. It's a highly reactive chemical building block with a molecular weight of only 43. We've already isolated many hundreds of uses for it. And you're cordially invited to come up with one more. Write for a free El sample. And make sure you're getting our technical "Amine Logics" mailings. The place to write for both is: Organic Chemicals Sales, The Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Michigan 48640.
