The current trend in steel making is t o p r o d u c e s p e c i a l i t y steels f o r c r i t i c a l applications which contain less than 50 ppm carbon and sulfur. This new system provides accuracy of ± 0 . 0 0 0 2 % ( ± 0 . 5 % carbon or ± 5 . 0 % sulfur present) and reproducibility of ± 3 ppm at levels of 50 ppm or lower.
The CS-344, combined w i t h the CF-10 Gas Purifier to purify oxygen supplies, and the TF-10 Dual Tube Furnace t o "burn-off" crucibles, provides the low carbon/sulfur system required by many of today's steel producers.
