Platinum Crucible Fusion Furnace PLATINUM CRUCIBLE

/ CEMRIC H K I INDUCTION COIL

Many analytical procedures require chemi cal fusions above 2000°F often in platinum crucibles. Rapid heating by induction saves time, minimizes loss of constituents by volatilization, and eliminates high main tenance costs associated with electric re sistance furnaces when operating at these high temperatures. Schematic illustration shows simple adap tation of platinum crucible fusion furnace used in preparation of electrodes for spec t r o g r a p h ^ analysis of alumina in silica brick. Provisions for temperature control are available. WRITE FOR NEW LEPEL CATALOG

The new CM-3 analog computer-con troller from Dresser Electronics, SIE Division, provides real time control for multivariable chemical and petro chemical processes. Either feed ahead or feedback techniques may be used. Modular construction pro vides versatility in installation. Unit can be used for operator guid ance or equation solution for engi neering design and analysis. CM-3 prices vary from $5000 to $10,000. A significant feature of MinneapolisHoneywell's new miniature PncumatiK Tel-O-Sct is that these instru ments eliminate adjustments in auto matic - manual - cascade control switching. Thus, no matching of pressures is required. Chart drives do not have to be removed to make adjustments for zero, damping, or priming of pens. And controller connections are automatically sealed when it is removed from its case. The line consists of one- and two-pen indicators and recorders with or without control, controllers, includ ing single and two station cascade, and pneumatic relays. Buffalo Meier Co. presents a Niagara line of simplified industrial liquid meters which enable plants to improve volumetric measure ment of more than 500 liquids. Meter permits repetitive deliveries of preset quantities with pushbutton control. Instrument activates a solenoid valve and recycles instantly to the preset quantity after each delivery. Electricontact meter gives electrical impulses for each unit of fluid, to permit remote batch con trol or integration. Brookfield has a complete line of viscometers for continuous indica tion, recording, and controlling of viscosity for laboratory or in-process installations. The Brookfield con sistency regulator is suggested for per cent solid measurement and control of solutions, suspensions, and slurries. System instrumentation, petroleum refining, and chemical processing is the theme of instruments from Fischer & Porter. The F & Ρ in-line blending system comprises a digital comparator, direct-reading sealertotalizers, ratio setter, valve with electro-pneumatic positioner, and pulse-type flowmeters. The system, which can blend up to 20 or more
