PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTS FROM WATERS ASSOCIATES. INC,

detectors

liquid chromatography STREAMING CURRENT DETECTOR The Streaming Current Detector provides a rapid, convenient measurement of the polarity and magnitude of the electrical charges on colloidal particles in a liquid medium. This instrument is capable of handling samples of high colloid concentration and provides an analog output for remote indication.

LIGHT DISPERSION DETECTOR Specifically designed for lipids and similar materials eluted from columns, this detector provides high sensitivity at reasonable cost

MILAN The Milan is a versatile and accurate critical angle refractometer, The fundamental prin ciple of operation is the measurement of the amount of reflected light from the interface of a flowing liquid stream and glass surface.

R-4 DETECTOR The Model R-4 Differential Refractometer is a highly sensitive general purpose detector for column chromatography. This detector, with its 10 ml flow-cell, is sensitive to 10-" R.I. units. It also incorporates a four digit counter Tor use as a digital refractometer with trapped samples.

ANA-PREP GPC The Ana-Prep GPC simultaneously per forms both preparative and analytica GPC fractionations. The preparative section of the instrument can frac tionate up to 40 grams of polymer in a 24 hour period with fraction hetero geneity indices in the order of 1.15. The analytical section provides the same proven performance as the Model 200 GPC.

PULSELESS PUMP This pulseless pump provides a simple, inexpensive answer to the chromatographer's need to generate constant liquid flow rates in the range of 0-3 ml/min. Consistent uniform flow rates as low as a few ml.hr are achieved during discharge of the first 300 ml. from the 500 ml, reservoir. Flow rate is readily changed by adjusting the regulated pressure source to the pump.

AUTOMATIC ORGANIC ACID ANALYZER The Automatic Organic Acid Analyzer reduces to a simple routine the quan titative analysis of organic acids like the Krebs Cycle Intermediates. As little as 0.05 microequivalents of 15 phys iologically important acids can be automatically determined in samples as small as 0.2 ml. urine, 350 mg. of tissue or 1 ml. of plasma.

column packing

PORAPAK Q-S

P0RAPAK" Purapak (porous polymer beads) has a number of advantages over other pack ing materials for gas chromatography with its notably sharp symmetrical peaks and its low retention volumes for water, alcohols, and glycols. Seven types of available Porapak identified as H.P,Q.R,S,Q-S, and Τ are modified in various fashions to give different re tention characteristics. When packed properly, plate counts of 400-800 plates per foot are possible.

PORASIL'Porasil is a chemically inert, porous silica bead for use as a solid support η gas chromatography. It has many outstanding advantages over commonly used inorganic supports, such as, controlled pore size and surface area which permit selecting the desired effect on gas separations whether done with or without liquid coatings.

AQUAPAK" Water compatible Aqua-Pak is a rigid, highly stable, porous polymer column packing which is ideally suited for molecular size separation by gel per meation or filtration.

STYRAGEL" Organic compatible Styragel is a noncompressible cross-linked polystyrene column packing. A variety of pore sizes is available to provide molecular size separations within preselected ranges.
