They may also be used for the preparation of organometallic compounds of other metals, and as an analytical reagent for nitrogen in rare gases. Lithium hydride is used as a drying agent, as a hydrogen generator, and as a condensing agent. The hydride, particularly, is beginning to receive more interest as research workers learn further about its characteristics.
