Now available in commercial quantities A M O C O Resin 18 is an alpha methyl styrene poly m e r . Light in color with excellent color stability, the resin is highly resistant to acid, alkali, water and grease. It offers exceptional qualities as a c o m p o u n d i n g i n g r e d i e n t in a s p h a l t a n d vinylasbestos floor tile and in rubber products such as shoe sole stock and electrical insulation. It shows promise in surface coating applications, in molded goods and extrusions, and in adhesives. A M O C O Resin 18 is supplied as a pure resin with a softening point of 2 9 0 ° F , Its prilled form and low molecular weight aids rapid incorporation into formulations. It is compatible with hydrocarbon resins, polystyrene, rubber, chlorinated paraffin and ester plasticizers, and aromatic plasticizer oils. A special polymer, A M O C O Resin 1 8 - 2 4 0 , is available for application where a 2 4 0 ° F , melting point is preferred.
