Macromolecules Perspectives In 2006, Macromolecules Editor Timothy Lodge added a new article type, the Perspective. Perspectives were created to convey a sense of what is new and exciting in a particular area and to provide leadership to the community by having experts offer a vision of what is important for the field to advance. Perspectives are intended to summarize important issues in a field, especially unresolved ones, draw attention to the author’s own contributions, and include new results if appropriate. Perspectives are not intended to be a comprehensive review of the field, nor are they intended to be merely a summary of an author’s work.
