Materials Chemistry and the Challenge To Develop Clean Energy Technologies A New Editor To Respond to the Rapidly Growing Area of Electrochemical Energy Generation and Storage

paper published in issue 16 (August 23, 2016) and generated a word cloud, shown in Figure 1. In a word cloud, the size of the font corresponds to the frequency of the word, and so it is obvious that energy is, at present, an area of great importance to the community. We have a host of editors with expertise in the area of renewables, including low-carbon energy conversion and storage, but we needed to bring on additional editorial expertise in the area of electrochemical energy storage to complement editors Ram Seshadri and Kristin Persson. We are very pleased to welcome Rosa Palacı ́n (Figure 2) from the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC), a renowned expert in the area of batteries.1 We have a full complement of research-active editors in just about every area of materials chemistry,2 including soft matter, catalysis, porous materials, organic and thin-film electronics, surface chemistry, materials and nanoparticle synthesis, and computational methods, as well as energy generation and storage and many others. We look forward to all of your submissions.
