Portable Flame Ionization M e t e r
The Davis portable flame ionization meter provides a highly sensitive, easily operated, and rapid response instru ment for the detection of gaseous hy drocarbons in air. It can accurately measure very low parts per million hy drocarbon concentrations, as well as in the range of per cent concentrations. It is designed for monitoring the efflu ent gas stream in solvent recovery sys tems, measuring combustible gas con centrations in industrial drying systems, leak detection and alarm service for natural gas transmission and distribu tion facilities, monitoring for purity in industrial gas streams, and air pollu tion and industrial hygiene surveys for toxic or noxious pollutants. The submersion rotator shown re quires an area of only 9 " X 1 3 " for operation in a standard water bath. The apparatus features a plastic disk and water resistant belt drive, as well as heavy gauge aluminum construc tion, the latter protected by water re sistant epoxy paint. An assortment of 65 interchangeable clips of varied sizes is included for the underwater rotation of test tubes, syringes, stop pered flasks, and small bottles. Ap plications include rotation of tissue slices and homogenates, rotator coag ulations, aerobic and anaerobic studies, tissue slices, and gas satura tion studies.
