Announcements Meeting Announcements DMW/ISSX 2000 June 11-16, 2000 St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland The European workshops on Drug Metabolism present an up-to-date background of theoretical and practical aspects of drug and xenobiotic metabolism. They provide a forum for the exchange of ideas between biochemical pharmacologists from academic circles and industry and give students and newcomers an introduction to the field. This year’s Workshop is being co-sponsored by the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics and the European Society for Biochemical Pharmacology in association with the University of Dundee. The Workshop will be held June 11-16, 2000, in St. Andrews, Scotland. The Workshop will consist of Symposia, Short Courses, and Poster Sessions. Internationally recognized scientists will be invited to speak in the Symposia and Short Courses. Symposia will also feature Free Communications from younger scientist. Short Courses will focus on the following: •Analytical techniques in drug metabolismsRecent advances and applications •PharmacogeneticssImplications for drug development and use Symposia will be presented on the following: •Glucuronidation •Drug transport •Xenobiotics and cell signaling, cell cycle, and apoptosis •The role of drug metabolism in the drug discovery process •Conjugation of xenobiotics and endogenous compounds •Modulation of human drug metabolism by xenobiotics •Pharmacodynamic/pharmacokinetic modeling •Kinetics and metabolism of bioproducts Poster Sessions will be open for all relevant topics. For more information and registration materials, please contact the Workshop Coordinators at [email protected] or by fax at +44 (0) 141 434 1500. 10th NORTH AMERICAN ISSX MEETING “Mechanisms, Models, and Methods for the Next Century” October 24-28, 2000 Indianapolis, Indiana The International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (ISSX) will be holding its 10th North American Meeting on October 24-28, 2000, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
