C o t t o n Fiber Researchers t o M e e t T h e regular a n n u a l meeting of its collaborators on cotton fiber research will be held at t h e Southern Regional Research Laboratory of U S D A in N e w Orleans during t h e week of April 2 3 . O n c e a year, four specialists from industry a n d other research organizations engaged in t h e study of textiles review t h e progress m a d e b y t h e laboratory staff in advancing t h e f u n d a m e n t a l knowledge of cotton fiber properties.

Gibbs M e d a l Presentation T h e story announcing that W. F . G i a u q u e would receive the Gibbs Medal of t h e Chicago Section, which appeared in C&EN, March 19, astonishingly placed t h e presentation in N e w York. In fact, w e were just as astonished as our readers, a n d wish to make it clearly understood that t h e Chicago Section gives t h e medal a n d presentation will be m a d e at a b a n q u e t to b e held at t h e F u r n i t u r e Club of America in Chicago on May 18.
