The 9th International Symposium on High-Performance Capillary Electrophoresis and Related Microscale Techniques (HPCE '97) will be held Jan. 26-30 at the Disneyland Hotel adjoining Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA. Three workshops and a two-day short course will precede the symposium. Presentations and poster sessions will cover advances in CE detector design, food analysis, analytical biotechnology, capillary electrochromatography, CE/MS, characterization of proteins, chemical arrays, chiral separations, clinical applications, DNA analysis, environmental applications, method validation, microfabricated CE systems, nanoscale analytical chemistry, nanospray MS, novel buffer chemistries, new column technologies, on-line preconcentration, pharmaceutical applications, and sensitivity enhancement. On Sunday, the opening session will feature talks by R. Austin, Cs. Horvath, and John R. Yates, and on Thursday, the closing session will feature talks by J. Michael Ramsey and James W. Jorgenson. Other events include a three-day exhibition of commercial HPCE systems and components, industrial seminars, latebreaking research lecture sessions, and complimentary evening receptions.
