HPCE '99 The 12th International Symposium on High-Performance Capillary Electrophoresis and Related Microscale Techniques will be held Jan. 23-28, at the Palm Springs Riviera Resort and Racquet Club, Palm Springs, CA. Preceding the symposium is a two-day short course on practical CE, a one-day short course on CE/MS, and three half-day workshops (Chip-based Analysis and Cell Handling, Time-of-Flight MS, and Proteomics). Presentations and poster sessions will cover advances in CE and capillary electrochromatography, microscale analytical techniques, and solutions to 3113" lytical problems such as protein chemistry and DNA analysis. On Sunday, Jan. 24, the opening session will feature talks by Leroy Hood, Fred W. McLafferty, and Peter Gill. On Thursday, the closing session will feature talks by Richard Caprioli, R. Mark Wightman, and Jed Harrison. Other events include a threeday exhibition of the latest instrumentation and supplies, industrial seminars, latebreaking lecture sessions, poster sessions, and complimentary receptions on Sunday, Jan. 24; Tuesday, Jan. 26; ;an Thhrsday, Jan. 28.
