NOTICE TO READERS AND CONTRIBUTORS Table of Contents.—Beginning with the January 5, 1960, issue of the Journal of the American Chemical Society the sectioning in the Table of Contents on the cover of each issue will be discontinued. As formerly articles which are classi fied as physical will appear first followed by those on inor ganic, organic, and biochemistry in order. M a n y articles are, however, difficult to classify, and since the Journal of the

A merican Chemical Society is a journal of broad coverage de voted as far as possible to significant articles, there would seem to be no point in the artificial breakdown by sections on the cover. The articles will be listed on the cover in the order in which they appear inside, and the title will precede the names of the authors.
