If the heating system you want hasn't been built yet... build it ! It's simple—with LindbergHevi-Duty building blocks of heat. These flex ible, low-cost elements can be as sembled in countless ways. They're perfect to heat piping systems where liquids must be kept at constant temperature. Or for spe cial lab requirements that don't justify a furnace. Or where there isn't a furnace to do the job. They have excel lent capacity. High watt density. 1000° or 1200° C. Con trol them manually, or automatically. They're available from leading lab dealers in sizes, shapes, and lengths to fit your projects. NEW PRODUCTS

Model UA-2 ultraviolet analyzer is a new dual-beam flow stream monitor for column chromatography and simi lar applications, which operates at both 2 5 4 and 2 8 0 rrtyi. A strip chart record of absorbance at either or both 2 5 4 and 2 8 0 r r y can be made at two sensitivity ranges. Dual-beam operation provides base line compen sation for gradient elution; absorb ance recording allows the chart rec ord t o be directly integrated for quan titative determinations. An automatic actuator causes an associated frac tion collector to index in such a way that individual absorbance peaks are deposited in separate test tubes. Meters

Two new Blak-Ray ultraviolet in tensity meters measure long-wave or short-wave ultraviolet intensities with out interference from visible light. Ac curacy is calibrated to ± 5 % , traceable to the National Bureau of Standards. Switch-controlled scales cover 0 to 1000 and 0 to 5000 microwatts per square centimeter. Sensor cells are detachable for remote measurements and for meas uring as close as 1 / i inch from an ir radiated surface. Holders

A new group of four basic variabletemperature optical sample holders per mits long-term optical studies in con tinuum from 1.04° to 300° K. and above. The variable temperature de sign is optimized for use with most commercial spectrophotometers. A wide range of window materials permits studies in infrared and ultraviolet ranges. Various methods of positioning samples under examination are provid ed. Standard temperature control ac cessories and temperature sensors are available for manual or automatic tem perature control to an accuracy ( ± 1 millidegree) limited by the sensitivity of the sensor at the temperature set point. Now... a Water Hardness , Monitor Τ at a practical L - i price! Hew Milton Roy Chemalyzer,®Jr.

mm s293oo Precision-built. And so economical you can afford one for constant, automatic check of feedwater hardness at every sampling point in your plant! Here's long-needed, low-cost, depend able protection of high-priced equipment. Chemalyzer, Jr. gives continuous colorimetric analysis of industrial water hard ness within the 0 to 3 parts per million range. Eliminates more sophisticated monitors where process doesn't require them. Ends human errors in manual analysis. Chemalyzer, Jr. continuously blends a reagent with water sample, constantly checking color intensity of mix. If pre-set upper limit of 3 ppm is reached, alarm is triggered instantly and automatically, alerting operating personnel of impend ing hardness breakthrough. Signal can be panel lights, or remote audio-visual alarm. Solid state circuitry throughout. Eco nomical to operate and maintain. Just supply one liter of reagent about every four days and clean key components occasionally. Compact. Easily installed. ORDER TODAY Sold direct, F.O.B. St. Petersburg, Fla. Fully guaranteed.
