For Polymer Branching Information... Think Low Angle Laser Light Scattering
Chromatix® Low Angle Laser Light Scattering (LALLS) detectors and software give unique polymer branching data when coupled with Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC). RESULTS: NBS Polymer Standard SRM-1476 is known to contain branched material. The LALLS detector clearly indicates a high molecular weight fraction that is below the detection limit of the Differential Refrac tive Index (DRI) detector. CONCLUSIONS: The CMX-100 LALLS detector is inher ently sensitive to high M w polymers and can yield unique results complementary t o conventional GPC concentra tion detectors such as a differential refractive index unit (DRI).
