MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE DIVISION OF CHEMICAL EDUCATION OF THE A. C. S. The Executive Committee met in Rochester on Monday noon, September 6th, with the following present: 0. M. Smith, Chairman; E. W. Phelan, Vice-chairman; N. W. Rakestraw, Secretary; Virginia Bartow, Treasurer; Otto Reinmuth, R. E. Swain, M. V. McGil. Professor H. N. Holmes, of Oberlin College, was elected to the Board of Publication, to fill the place of R. E. Baker, retiring. A question was raised concerning the revision of the committee program of the Division in the direction of the establishment of committees of more permanent character. No action was taken, but after some discussion the chairman and secretary were authorized to confer with the Committee on Naming and Scope of Committees concerning it. Secretary N. W. RAKESTRAW, MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING OF THE DIVISION OF CHEMICAL EDUCATION The business meeting of the Division was held on Tuesday afternoon, September 7th. The following new officers were elected: B. C. Hendricks, Chairman M. V. McGill, Vice-chaiman A. J. Currier, Member-et-large of the Executiue Committee The report of the treasurer was read and approved. Reports of the Committee on Tests and Examinations and the Committee on College Entrance Board Examinations were presented immediately preceding the business meeting, as papers on the regular program. The Secretary was instructed to prepare suitable expressions of regret at the passing of John N. Swan and William Foster, long-standing members of the Division, and to send them to their respective families. Secretary N. W. RAKESTRAW,

SECOND NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING The Semnd Sational Conference on Educational Broadca+ ing robe held ilt the Drake Hotel in Chicago. Novrmhcr 29, 3 I. and Dccemhcr I. will hear spokesmen for thc radio amlicncc. the radio industry, and education express their viewpoints on the problems and progress of educational broadcasting, according to an announcement by C. S. Marsh, Executive Secretary. Representatives of the Federal Radio Education Committee, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Office of Education Radio Project will report on government activity. Visual evidence of accomplishments in educational broadcasting, and technical aids to broadcasting will be offered by educational and commercial exhibits. Exhibitors are urged to apply for space as early as possible t o C. S. Marsh, 744 Jackson Place, N. W., Washington, D. C. The Program Committee has outlined the following topics for the general sessions and section meetings, and will announce the speakers shortly.
