2000, Volume 34, Pages 2215-2223 P. Trivedi and L. Axe*: Modeling Cd and Zn Soprtion to Hydrous Metal Oxides Pages 2218 and 2221. The authors found an error in the reporting of the activation energy (Ea) for cadmium sorption to hydrous ferric oxide (HFO). The following was presented for HFO-Cd in Table 1 (page 2218) and Figure 7b (page 2221): Ea ) 13.3 kcal mol-1 and R ) 0.62. However, the values for HFO-Cd are Ea ) 15.0 kcal mol-1 and R ) 0.70. Therefore, in Figure 7b, the average Ea for Cd is 13.88 kcal mol-1, and the average R for transition metals is 0.68. ES010703W 10.1021/es010703w
