Molecular Genetics ! forChemists # ^ An Audio Course produced by the American Chemical Society
I
ntroducing a new audiocassette course for everyone interested in molecular genetics. Now you can go beyond the basics and get an in-depth look at the biological and chemical background of genetics as you study structure, heritability, control of gene expression, chemical manipulation, and much more.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN This dynamic course is packed with valuable information that you can use immediately. You'll study genetic properties as they relate to chemical mechanisms You'll gain insight into techniques of site directed mutagenesis and expression vectors and how they can be used to create new biological molecules, especially proteins. Specifically, you'll learn about: fundamental principles of gene cloning and recombinant DNA chemical basis of DNA mapping and sequencing application of gene cloning techniques to modification and high level expression of protein molecules molecular basis of gene control biochemistry of DNA relating to its role as information store in the cell molecular mechanisms of an information transfer from genes to finished product Plus, you'll become familiar with the pertinent terminology with the handy glossary of terms included in the course manual.
HOW YOU'LL BENEFIT In addition to being interesting, this course will prove professionally useful to you. You'll be able to derive and interpret maps of recombinant DNA molecules, interpret DNA sequence data, identify genetic control schemes, identify DNA sequence important for genetic control, and interpret genetic behavior of organisms in molecular terms—all in just a few short hours!
