Varian MAT has come up with the first friendly GC/MS-system

MAT 44: liveGC/MS under keyboard control The all new MAT 44 is the first GC/MS system which incorporates full digital control of all GC and mass spectrometer functions. The system is controlled via a typewriter-like keyboard and a visual display screen provides a continuous monitor of results and operating parameters. The microprocessor programs for operation, optimization, and recording of analytical data are stored on discs. After initiation via the keyboard they are executed automatically. The keyboard dialogue is simple. Any required program is brought into operation by typing two letters. The program steps are displayed on the screen. During the analysis, the total ion current and the important instrumental parameters are displayed on the visual display screen. Thus, a continuous real-time display of the analytical results is provided. The MAT 44 performs quanti1 44e6 76

tative GC/MS in the multiple ion selection (MIS) mode. Absolute concentrations are calculated using internal or external standards and are automatically recorded. Any data displayed on the visual display screen can be videotaped and replayed later. The technical features of the MAT 44 provide for fast, efficient, and easy operation. High reliability and low maintenance are features of the system. If you have any questions concerning any aspect of the MAT 44 GC/MS please contact us and we will be happy to supply more information.
