Pages 629-631: A correction should be made in the 9S assignment shown for anserinone B (2). Professor F. E. McDonald (Emory University) recognized a discrepancy when the ∆R-S data for 2 were analyzed using the empirical rules previously published (Helmchen, G. Tetrahedron Lett. 1974, 1527-1530; see also Seco, J. M.; Quin˜oa´, E.; Riguera, R. Chem. Rev. 2004, 104, 17-117). Investigation of this issue confirmed the accuracy of the spectral data originally reported, but revealed that an incorrect model had been used to make the assignment. Thus, the data set requires 9R rather than 9S stereochemistry for 2, as shown below.
